Braunton retains its quaint olde, world charm despite its reputation as the largest village in England.
It has a wide range of restaurants, cafes and takeaways, grocery provision is good, plus the essential requirements of a pharmacy, bank, newsagents, hardware and doctors surgery.
Being the gateway to some of the countries finest surfing beaches you’ll find no shortage of surf stores selling and hiring surf boards and surf wear.
If surfing is not your style or the waves are flat, there are plenty of lovely shops to browse around. There is also a farmers market on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
The famous Tarka Trail runs through Braunton, with cycle hire in the village too.
